May 31, 2009 10:04
guest06186 Hi,
1) how do i get from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, what are the cheapest routes, how long will the journey take and roughly how much will it cost?

2) What are the best currency to travel with USD or British pounds?

When i looked up Shenzhen on Youtube i noticed that there is an abundance of signs in English,so is English widely spoken in Shenzhen as it is in Hong Kong?

3) Will i need a visa to enter Shenzhen?

Thanks in advance.

You can take a bus from Hong Kong to Shenzhen. If you travel to China, you have to use RMB. In most matroplitan cities of China, an abundance of signs are written in both Chinese and English, and Shenzhen is just one of them, However, English is not widely spoken in Shenzhen as it is in Hong Kong. If you are not Chinese, a visa is must when come into China.

1) Take the MTR to either Lok Ma Chau or Lo Wu, walk across the border and you'll be in Shenzhen. The metro fare obviously depends on where you're starting from in Hong Kong.
2) Neither. Bring whichever one is your home currency, and exchange for RMB (in Shenzhen) or HKD (in Hong Kong). No, English isn't not as widely spoken in Shenzhen.
3) Depends on your passport nationality!
