Shanghai Pudong to Beijing by Train

guest01206 I arrive at Shanghai Pudong at 6 pm and need to take overnight train to Beijing. So, what is the fast/inexpensive way to go from Pudong to Railway Station to catch the train for Beijing.

"Fast" and "inexpensive" don't usually go hand in hand. In any case, I would advise you to take airport shuttle no.5 for 18 RMB/pax, to Shanghai main train station. The journey time takes around 1.5 hours. You'll most probably take around 1-1.5 hours to get out of Pudong airport after your flight lands, depending on the situation, so I would expect you to get to the main train station around perhaps 2030-2100.
The last D train (D322) leaves at 2142, and the last T train (T110) leaves at 2204. The D trains only have sleepers for 655/730 RMB, and for the T trains you might only be able to get hard seat since you're buying so last-minute.
