guestSpagetiii Okay so I want to travel to China this summer to see my girlfriend, but I ran into a problem. My family is pretty much freaking out at the possibility. They say it's way too dangerous for me to travel to China alone, my mom said she's afraid I'd go there and never come back or something. Now I know that I have to see my girlfriend, but I don't want my family hating me for it. So do you guys have any suggestions or help you can give? I'm really desperate and running out of time to come up with a solution.

Yes, China is too dangerous for you, you should stay at home and play house with your mates. ^_^

GUESTSPAGETIII From the sound of the first post, I guess it made me seem like a kid. I live on my own and can make my own decisions. My question is really, what is the safest way to travel to China? Is it easy to find a way to go with a group of people maybe? If so, what are the options?

Plenty of travellers travel DIY to China every year, without a tour group. The vast majority of these return home safely. Look on the Lonely Planet forums if you want more reassurance.
