I have always had good trips to China, everyone friendly and incident free. This time a nice young Chinese guy thought he would try to relieve me of my heavy camera, a nice gesture as I had been carrying it all day but at £1500 I felt it was a bit too much to give away. I was carrying it over my shoulder and always loop my hands through extra attatchments on the strap, the guy went whizzing past me on his push bike and grabbed the strap. I dont think he appreciated the strength of my grip and while I held firm he came to a stop and hit the floor on his bike. Immediately I stood over him shouted and growled at him, let me tell you that Dave rage is something scary and you really dont want to experience it, he got up and ran. I couldnt measure but it was close to world record pace as he made his exit. Leaving me with my camera and a free bicycle, sadly it wasnt this years model and looked a bit on the small side for me so I stood it up and left it there.

I thought BY has left the forum, although with all the name changes he/she/it could be any guest on here

haha, you are humourous. Fortunately, you came across maybe a single one riding bike,he is a new hand.: ), but sometimes skillfull robber riding motobike, and maybe with knife for cutting the strap. So always be aware the situation around you.
