Three killed, 60 injured in 2 train collision in China

At least three people were killed and 60 injured when two passenger trains collided in Chenzhou Railway Station of Central China’s Hunan Province.

Train K9017 from Changsha to Shenzhen, and train K9063 from Tongren (Guizhou Province) to Shenzhen collided at 02:34 a.m on Sunday at Chenzhou railway station, driving several carriages off the tracks.

The crash took place when the train K9017 pulled in. The K9017 locomotive and its first five carriages as well as the K9063 locomotive and its first two carriages were off the track..The fourth carriage of the K9017 was the most seriously damaged. One of the trains crashed into nearby house, causing them to collapse. The injured were hospitalized in the nearby hospitals. The reason for the accident was under investigation.
