Requirements:
1. Ameirican or people who used to live in the USA for a year
2. speak fluent English and talkative
3. one with teaching experience is preferred

Work place:
near the subway station Sun Yat-sen University, Haizhu District,
Guangzhou,Guangdong Province, China

Payment
negotiable

Work time
At least from July,2009-August,2009, long term cooperation is expected(short t

Wow this is one racist advert.

What do the Americans have that other Native Speakers of the ENGLISH LANGUAGE can't offer ????????????

I'm Australian by the way and have lived in the US for short periods of time. One year is certainly not long enough to pick up the accent, especially if you like your own, and I do.

If a year of living in the States is supposed give one an understanding of the culture you can forgetaboudit.
Most of us non-Amercians have acquired enough American culture, if I dare call it that, from decades of watching TV and the cinema.

Good luck but please don't be so blatantly discriminating.

But it might be that the Employer wants to target the US culture as well as English speaking skills.

Understanding "life in the US" from an American doesn't seem unreasonable if the
students want to go and live in the US ?

But it seems we are missing the point: Americans do not speak English, they speak American.

When I watch an American DVD, I always display the English subtitles otherwise I can only understand about half. I am English and Australian.

And another thing, isn't 'American culture' an oxymoron? :)

Are you serious Paul? You can only understand HALF of American DVDs? Maybe you should buy NORTH American DVDs in future.

Incidentally, I am Australian and I am in no way offended by the advertisement specifying an American teacher. Australian, New Zealand, Scottish, Irish and even some English accents can be difficult to understand. As much as I hate to admit it, American is the defacto world language,not English. Similarly, if I intended to learn Chinese I would choose Beijing Chinese.
