Do you like these ten English songs? They are generally favored by a vast number of Chinese.

No. 1 Yesterday Once More (by The Carpenters)

It’s a must listening for English beginners. The lyrics are simple and easy to understand. The song is influential in China. It makes both men and women’s heart flutter.

No. 2 Right Here Waiting (by Richard Marx)

It’s a sensational love song. It is estimated that Chinese students (particularly male students) with poor English can sing this song. The song is very effective for courting.

No. 3 My Heart Will Go On (Celine Dion)

Awesome song! If a Chinese heard only one English song, it must be “My Heart Will Go On). Except for “Happy Birthday To You” and “ I Can Say My ABC”, which English song else can reach such an unprecedented height. Someone else told you that they don’t love the song, don’t believe it. Think less of the song? It may be due to the fact that the song has been played for too many times or the listeners are totally jealous of the love between Jack and Rose. Actually, they love the song deeply since love is sheer irresistible.

Though the singer (Glenn Medeiros) is not a big name, people can not help humming the song when it is played on campus, bookstores, department stores, libraries, teahouses and cafes.

No.7 I Will Always Love You (Whitney Houston)

This is the biggest hit ever around the globe. Whitney Houston is probably the only black singer for many Chinese who even didn’t like listening English songs.
