| As the college admission is on, the Department of Student Enrollment in Chongqing City announced that 31 fake-nationality students will not be enrolled by any colleges. This punishment means He Chuanyang who got the highest score for the College Entrance Exams in Chongqing City will also be denied the opportunity to be enrolled. He was reportedly having faked his Han nationality into Tujia nationality to get extra points. (Like in USA, there is also an Affirmative Action policy in China that minority students could get extra bonus students in the national college entrance exam.) China is a populous country. Each year, millions of students compete fiercely for the limited enrollment rate for key universities. Extra bonus points mean a lot. What a pity for the exam Champion! He has no chances to be admitted. Do you think the punishment is too severe? |

| A couple of things...One, this guy might be an exam Champion, but he is also a cheater and a liar. Second, the punishment is not too severe. Let this serve as a lesson to all others who think that it is OK to cheat. Play with fire and you get burned. Now if only the Department of Student Enrollment had the balls to deal with all of those whose daddy knows somebodies daddy, who knows somebodies uncle, who took 10000 rmb to get them a placement....it is those guys who are undermining the entire system, and it is those guys who should be dealt with as severely as poor old He Chuanyang, who obviously didn't have enough cash to take the bribe route in. |
