Yao Ming takes over his former club Shanghai Sharks

NBA star, Houston Rocket center Yao Ming has taken over his former financially strapped club Shanghai Sharks, announced Yao through his agent on Wednesday.

You’s investment company had signed an agreement with the Shanghai Oriental Basketball Club on the share trasfer. The three coowners agree to sell Yao all the shares. So Yao Ming will become the sole shareholder of the club.

The seven-time NBA All Star's investment company signed a framework agreement with the club's three co-owners who agreed to sell Yao all their shares in the club, Xinhua news agency said. The sharks has fallen into finanical difficulties since the withdrawal of its main sponsor ealiers this year.“I grew up in the city and became a professional player in this team, so I hope I can do something to help,” said Yao on a Shanghai TV interview.

Yao topped the Forbes list of the wealthiest Chinese entertainers with an estimated income of 388 million yuan (S$82.57 million) in 2008.

I like Yao Ming ,and I think he will make Chinese basketball stronger.
