On July 16th,1945, a terrible explosion break the predawn quietness in an American desert at Alamogordo, New Mexico. The sky turns yellow and yellow. The first atomic bomb went off. The incredible destructive powers of the atom were unleashed for the first time. The event has ever changed the world. Almost prior to the test of the first bomb, a second bomb was on the way to Pacific for an attack on Hiroshima. Less than one month, U.S dropped two atomic bombs on Japanese cities, which led to the end of the Second World War. THowever,how to assess the birth of atomic bomb has been a controversy? Is it the real intention of the scientists involved in the “Manhattan Project” to use it to attack Japan? Sure, the blast of atomic bomb accelerates the end of World War II. Nevertheless, a group of observers argued that Japan would soon surrender even if there were no explosion of of the two atomic bombs.Today, how should we evaluate the birth of Atomic Bomb?
