Madhya Pradesh State of India has forced the would-be-brides to undergo a virginity test. The women who were found having lost the virginity were forbidden from getting married. Last month, a state-run mass wedding were held by the State Authority. All women partiicpated were forced to take the test.15 women failing the test were not allowed to getting married. The India National Commisssion for Women was strongly protested about the act. It is a discrimination on Indian women. Does India remain a conservative country where all men like virgins? To all guys here, what do you think of premarital sex and virginity? In your country, is a bride’s virginity highly prized?

GUEST71138 some one should not point out the culture.
virginity is important for both girl as well as boy.
this is a matter of trust. the marriage is important relation which starts with trust. thats one of the reason why India has less divorce rate.

Agreed.

I am seriously debating the idea of dating/falling in love with another woman that has had experience prior to me, let alone more experience than me... I've heard this before, and have seen the harshness first hand... that woman DO compare if they have lost their virginity... and its true.

I fell head over heals for a girl that i truely related with and understood ... except the fact that she was an x-slut and had done some pretty monsterous guy b4 ... all i can say in my defence is at least i knew how to wiggle it! ...but seriously the relationship ended horribly, and i have never dated a non-virgin prior to her. bad impression. sad for me.

GUESTSINAC Virginity is not always important. Indian culture is funny and it is so artificial. For example Cows which are highly respected in our country don't have sex with only one ox. Arranged marriage is the root of this. If parents teach their child to make good decision (which is their duty) then they don't have to worry about their marriage life or anything else. Instead most of them physically and mentally force them to show their dominance. If you can't teach your child them its your fault. At the end of the day All mature people should be independent!

GUEST57462 why test only for women, men should also be tested.

Both bride and the groom should have a medical certificate that they are fit to marry each other. Otherwise there might be problems of having abnormal child.
