how long in kashgar

can anyone tell me how long is long enough to spend in kasgar to be able to see most of the sites? which lake is better to see in oct/nov heaven lake near urumqi or lake karakul near kashgar? also will there be yurts around at this time of year? thanks any info is helpful.

Regardless of time of year I would definitely recommend Karakul Lake over Tian Chi as Karakul is way less touristy and very much less crowded.
I think the yurts would still be there in October.
