Safety, hygiene, transportation, communication (both telephone and internet) and price are all to be considered which is not easy to be done in an unknown city. I have found some ideal accommodation in Chengdu and recommend those hotel and inn at here. The first one i recommend is 7daysinn. It runs in the form of chain shops. It has around 300 franchises in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Chengdu, etc in China. It has ten franchises in Chengdu providing perfect location, nice and clean rooms, well-mannered staff, free internet access to you. Even more, convenient online reservation system without request of advanced payment. Its price is reasonable, ranging from RMB119 to RMB179 depending on the type of the room and the location of the hotel. But it has no English speaking staff, no western food, its website only has Chinese version. If you have difficulty in booking it, you are welcome to ask me for help.
