![]() | According to Xinhua Newsagency, typhoon Morakot has landed in Chinese provinces on the easternd coast on Sunday, imposing great havoc. At least one child was killed and millions were affected. Houses were destroyed and farmlands were inundated. In the southeaster Fujian Province, 34 domestic flights were cancelled and 20 delayed due to the unfavorable weather conditions. The city also suspended most passenger bus services. In Zhejiang, more than 3.4 million people were affected as hundreds of villages were flooded and more than 1,800 houses collapsed. Though the storm center has left Taiwan, the successive rainstorm still dominate the central and southern part of Taiwan. In the Chihpen Hot Springs (Zhīběn Wēnquán) Resorts, over 300 tourists and local residents were entrapped. A hotel in the area has collapsed because of the successive heavy rainstorm. ![]() |
