Interpreter wanted in Chongqing
Aug 11, 2009 23:12
guest23128 Hi there,
I'm a freelance journalist working on a sports-related story in Chongqing. I will be in the city 18-23/8 and am looking for an interpreter to help me out for a couple of hours on two to three days of my stay - mainly chatting with people.
Not looking for pros. My budget is low (can pay around 100-150元/day depending on skills), so if there are any students out there with good English who are looking for some extra income and having good fun on the way - hit me up.
I can be contacted at to.boaz (at) gmail.com
Thanks!

maybe you thought you are visiting Africa. It seems. But it is China and 21 century!

GUEST23128 Hi Susan,

Actually, I live here in China so I am well aware of what the going prices/wages for various services are.

I think I made it quite clear I am looking for a student and not a professional interpreter - and reckon that for a student, 100-150元 for a couple of hours of pretty easy work is not a bad deal. It's more than what you'd make working at Starbucks or any other coffeshop between your semesters, that's for sure - and it's a rate I've paid many times in the past for the same kind of service in other parts of China.

This is not Africa, but it ain't Europe or the US either. Not yet.
