Black Face Festival is a tradiditonal festival of Yi minority ethnic group in Qiubei county, southwest China’s Yunan province where Yi people blacken their faces to expel monsters and kill evils. This year, the festival fell on August 15. See the photo: two women are plastering black ashes on each other’s face in the black face festival.
