Golden Week in Beijing

guest69179 My wife and I are considering a guided tour of China the first two weeks of October, and have realized that we'll be in Beijing during the Golden Week. Have any of you experienced the madness that I keep reading about? Do we actually have any chance of getting into the Forbidden City, the palaces, the Great Wall, etc, or is it not as bad as I've read elsewhere?

Yeah sure. You'll get in, but you'll see more in the way of masses of humanity than of the sights.
