Beijing closes several major roads on 28th,29th for National Day’s Rehearsal

CAOJUAN157 Points: Join Date: Mar 13, 2007 Status: offline	In order to make full preparation for the National Day celebration, the rehearsal is about to start this evening in Tiananmen area and along the Chang’an street in Beijing. Thus from 20:00 August 28th till the end of the rehearsal, over 20 roads near the Tiananmen Square, Jianguomenqiao, Fuxingmenqiao and Chang’an Street will be closed temporarily. In detail, during 5:00-11:00 and 16:50-21:50 on 29th, the Metro Line 1 Tiananmen Station (the east and the west entrance) will be closed. During the time, the Metro Line 1 will not stop at Tiananmen, Qianmen and stations along Chang’an Street. In addition, from 18:00 28th to 5:00 30th, the following attractions will be temporarily closed: China National Museum, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, the Working People's Cultural Palace, the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City, the south and northeast gates of Zhongshan Park.

CAOJUAN157 Points: Join Date: Mar 13, 2007 Status: Offline	With 50 days to go before the 60th Anniversary of People's Republic of China, the landmark of Beijing-Tiananmen, Xinhuamen and the major trunk road-Chang'an Street are now being beautified in a fast pace. The tourist attractions along the Chang'an Street are currently receiving careful maintenance. It is said that all the preparation work will be end in early September.
