"Best" is subjective. How many of you are there and how much luggage do you have? What time is your flight out from Hong Kong airport? Are you more concerned with saving time, or money?

Thank you for your speedy reply. (1) Four of us (college friends), each with a couple of luggages. (2) Around 11 AM. (3) Time is my most concern.

Are you 5km west of the railway station? I usually stay in the Shekou area and there is a direct ferry to the airport from there. They will forward your luggage and customs is much lighter, typically only a few minutes.

Dave is right, there is ferry from Shekou the HK int'l airport directly, but I think it is not practical if you are near Luohu railway. Because it seems very far from Luohu to Shekou. So I think if you know the lines of metro in HK, and know how to transfer from one to another, there is metro to the airport, but the precondition is you must very familiar with the metro lines in HK.And it should be cheaper than taking the ferry and others. Second is there is a shuttle bus from HK int'l airport to Shenzhen airport, and it comes to pass through Luohu, but I forget the telephone No. of them actually. Maybe you can make a consultation in HK airport next time.

Thank you Dave & Victor. I am thinking to take a minivan / taxi from Lo Wu (Hong Kong side after across border) to HKIA. Do you know how much cost me? Are they more economical and less hassle for 4 people with some big and small luggage? Jimmy

Yes, I too would pick to go via ferry from Shekou. Though this is perhaps a little far from where you stay (not sure 5 km in which direction from Luohu) but it's the fastest and also the most convenient. If you go by bus it'd be troublesome to do it with all your luggage. The ferry takes only 30 mins. There're departures at 0745 and 0845 -- the latter might be a little rushed at the airport for you. BTW, "luggage" is an uncountable noun, so there's no plural form (ie no such word as "luggages") for it.

Thanks Ellyse! Since my hotel is much closed to Shenzhen Luohu station, I may take Hong Kong MTR to HKIA. I find out that this way is much cheaper. Jimmy

Hmmm, the Airport Express can be a little expensive though. :(

Hey Ellyse, Not really. One-way (Shekou -> HKIA) Ferry ticket price is 240RMB. Airport Express Travel Pass (2-Airport Express Ride and 3 consecutive days of unlimited travel on MTR) only costs me HK$285 (online purchase ONLY), in which HK$50 is refundable deposit. Cheers, Jimmy PS: Ellyse is a nice name.

Hmmm aren't you just going directly to Hong Kong airport? Why would you need that pass?
