Chinese mainland Swine flu cases increase to 4,000

The Swine flu (A/H1N1 flu) cases have beein on the rise recently. By 15:00 Wednesday, 224 new cases of the A/H1N1 flu were confirmed in the past 48 hours. The total infectioned cases have risen to nearly 4,000 (3981), according to the Ministry of Health. Among the newly confirmed cases, 199 were “imported cases”. About 3,400 have recovered. On Sunday, a group of 80 cases have been confirmed in a senior high school in Henan Province. It has indicated the rising risk of an A/H1N1 pandemic in Chinese mainland.

As the new semester begins, flocks of students return to their universities. More cases of AH1N1 flu are being reported around China. Several universities have been put in group quarantine.
