| On Wednesday, French dairy farmers dumped gallons of milk onto fields in a protest against low milk prices. The recent low milk price has caused a Europrean-wide dairy famer’s protest. The dairy farmers thought that the low milk price is due to the failed liberalization and milk quota system. The liberalization and milk quota systerm of European Commissions and the local governments have led to the overproduction of milk, hence the low price. During the 1929 Great Depression, capitalists dumped the milk to boost the price. Right now, dairy farmers do the same to curb the falling price. Overproduction is a problem for capitalism. Is the overproduction absolute? Do all the residents of EU countries drink milk every morning? In China, countless people can not afford to drink milk every morning. |
