China has many “Kids Champions” in various international events. Have you noticed that? In particular, Chinese dream diving team has given birth to the most “kids champions”. Fu Mingxia, a former reputable female diver, won the title of “ World Champion” when she was 13. The glory of these teenage champions has allured many parents to send their kids to practice diving in the hope that their children can become a shining sports star. However, not every kid can catch a lucky star. On September 16, a lady from Chongqing, identified only by her surname Liao, was still regretting the decision she made two years ago. In 2007, she sent her five-year-old son to a diving training club to pratise diving. After only a 3-month training, the club asked her son to practice the 10-meter Platform Diving on December 25,2007. Unfortunately, the boy fell from the platform and lost his consciousness on spot. He turned into a human vegetable. (Before the accident, the boy once felt sick and wanted to vomit after pratising the 10-meter platform diving. It was said to be related to his improper action and gestures). Obviously the boy is an underage diver, but the trainer and his parents insisted on his training. Nearly two years has passed, the boy remains in a vegetative state. He was diagnosed with severe brain injury and he got blind. Now, the parents are lodging a lawsuit against the diving training club, claiming a compensation of 900,000 Yuan. The court is investigating and trying the case.

The boy was hospitalized in a vegetative state.

China has more underage sports stars than other countries. That's associated with China's state-owned sports system. To achieve more gold medals in international events, China consumed a hugh amount of wealth in picking up the elite talents. Once the talents get a medal, fame and money would come around these stars. A number of parents see only the halo of the sports champions and turn a blind eye to the difficulties they encountered. The is obviously "To pull up seedling in mistaken hope of helping it to grow ".

GUEST21131 It's all about fame, money and reputation. Chinese parents are becoming more and more pragmatic. They wish their children can even make money when they were babies. It's a tough life for Chinese kids.
