I am going to Shenzhen China for a conference on November 3. I will be arriving in Hong Kong first, going to Shenzhen for 4 days and returning to Hong Kong. I am filling out a visa application now. Am I better off: Saying that I am a businessman, Applying for a business or tourist visa, Applying for a multiple entry versus single entry visa, and do I need to list the contact information for the conference on the visa application form (hotel, host information, phone #, email)?

I would appreciate any advise on what the best information to put on the visa application.

Thanks,

JC

For your current trip you only require a single-entry visa. If you predict that you'll be going to mainland China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) quite a few more times in the near future (within half a year or a year) then you'd be better off getting a multi-entry visa.
For your current trip a normal tourist visa will do and it might be easier to get.
