Hi Im a backpacker travelling to Guangzhou from Shenzhen early next week and looking for somewhere central and nice to stay does anybody know any nice affordable hotels and any tourist attractions/things to do located close by?

What's your definition of "nice" and "affordable"? Are you looking for a dorm bed or private room, and what price range?
General sightseeing information for Guangzhou is readily available both online and in print. It would be good to do some homework then come back with more specific questions.
