RUSST Points: Join Date: Oct 12, 2009 Status: offline	HI We are going to Hong Kong end of October.We arrive 9am Monday 26th Oct 2009.What is the exact route i take on the MTR to Prudential Hotel Nathan road.Ie what stops do i get off at if any. Is it easier to get a Taxi outside? Do i go for a Red One ? How much do they charge for Bags? I want to go to Macau from Nathan road again best route , time and cost is it best to book an organised trip? if so is this best done in HK ? My daughter is 15 can we get into any of the race courses? Do we have to book ? if so where? best way to get there also please from Natahn Road. Also recomedations for best places to eat at resonable cost Nathan road Thanks in advance Russ

Where are you arriving from? Do you mean from the HKG airport?

If so, the Prudential Hotel website gives pretty good information on how to get there. It looks like the station you're getting off should be "Hung Hom".

If you have loads of stuff, you'd just be better off with taking a taxi. And yes - go for the red one. There will be signs at the airport on which taxis to take. Just go for the Kowloon direction and you'll be fine.

You won't need to book anything to Macau if you have a guidebook in hand. There are particular areas of interest with lots of Portuguese remnants in Macau, plus the casinos, plus the racetracks. If you have immense interests in those areas, ask for information while you're at the HKG airport. There are organized day trips that go to Macau from Hong Kong, but little would be geared towards selling to English speakers. You can also inquire about it at the Prudential Hotel. Other than that, there is much more to see in Hong Kong.

As far as racetracks are concerned, I don't think your daughter is old enough to get in. There are rare days they'd let children under 18 in, but rare. I even got asked to not go anywhere near it when I was 17 and a half. But it may be different for foreigners (depending on whoever that's working there can speak English or bother to start something with a foreigner).

And you probably won't need any recommendations on places to eat. There are literally 10+ restaurants average on a block on Nathan Road, from Italian to French to Chinese and all within reasonable prices (in fact, exceptionally cheap).

Don't worry too much about little details. It sounds like you already know the few big places you're interested in visiting. The hotel reception should be able to offer excellent help. Plus, the majority of the population understands English fairly well (compared to mainland China). If you need any help, the police in HK will always be able to offer assistance, even on just simple questions like, where to eat if you want to pick a restaurant on that one street you're in.
