| I read the following in Frommers. Where is the place? Tea--If you're serious about tea, there's only one place to go -- Malian Dao. Malian Dao, south of Xi Zhan, might not sell all the tea in China, but with over a mile of shops hawking tea leaves and their paraphernalia, it feels like it. The chain stores are here, but most shops are run by the extended families of tea growers from Fujian and Zhejiang, and many rate this friendly street as the highlight of their visit. The four-story Tea City (Cha Cheng (tel. 010/6328-1177), in the middle of the street on the west side, is a pleasant spot to start. |
