Travel time from Kunming to Dali

has anyone information of how long it takes to travel from Kunming to Dali by Express Bus or by hiring a driver (should be faster i guess)??

Hi Andreas, it takes 8-9h from Kunming to Dali by train. If you take a bus, it will be around 5h. If you want to hire a driver, I'm sure it will be faster if the driver is trustful. But it will cost you a lot. I suggest taking bus.

I'd still prefer to take the overnight train though.
