Where to book Train?

Hi,

First post here.

We are looking at getting a train from Shanghai to Beijing, would prefer a private 2 berth cabin overnight.

Am I right in thinking the train we need is the D308? How and when do we book?

You can only buy tickets here in China up to a week or so prior to you travel date.

If you are going to be in Shanghai for a few days you could buy them through your hotel as soon as you arrive. Or wait for one of the locals Shanghai members to offer to do it for you.

AFAIK the D trains only have normal 4-bunk sleepers, no 2-bunk sleepers. Let me know if you need help with tickets -- email to yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username (eg CocoPops) in the subject line.
