1. 1500RMB per day is not "such a big money", so there's nothing to be jealous of.
2. I think the policeman shouldn't do that to the prostitute. Actually, no one have the right to do that to anyone even if it's proved to be guilty. But no one could stop the so-called authority doing that.
Bob, I agree with you. Oui, c'est la guerre...

Wow, there are many rich guys in this community. 1500 RMB per day is a big money to me. So I am very jealous of those escort girls.

Since prostitution is illegal in China, I think it is right for Chinese authorities to fight against prostitution. We've already made laws and regulations so that we should enforce them very well. Anyone who breaks them will be punished. Unfortunately, laws and regulations haven't been enforced fairly. I have the same doubt as LonleyJourney. Why didn't they arrest those customers who were involved? Or should we say those customers were all innocent and just lured by escort girls? Or those customers had a good relationship with local government?

By the way, no FRENCH please! I know nothing about French.

Bobert, 1500 RMB is a big money to me and I am very much jealous of those girls.

These girls do satisfy some people's needs in society. There is a need, there is a supply. HOWEVER, some people do get hurt. Do you ever think about those male customers' wives? How do they feel if they find out their husbands find prostitutes outside? I am not a westerner so that I don't know what if those western wives react if they find their husbands find whores outside. Maybe, they are so generous that they accept that their husbands can find whores outside. But most Chinese wives can't bear this. Of course, there might be some exceptions too.

For every 119 girls they take off of the street there will be another 119 ready to take their place.
The money they can earn comparatively speaking is huge compared to a regular job.
I remember my first trip to Singapore years ago, when it still looked like Singapore. The working girls there had been sent down from the countryside by their families to earn an income for the family.
As Bob has so rightly said, “there, for the grace of god”
As an aside, I wonder if the policeman in question has every used the services………no, silly question.

Mes apolodies,je ne parlerai plus français.
1500 per day is very big money to most people so I can understand your jealousy. I admit I am also jealous. However being jealous is no reason to restrict the sale of a product that causes no harm."Do you ever think about those male customers' wives". Yes of course I do. Do you? Many wives have no interest in sex. When women reach menopause I'm sure they woud prefer to know their marriages are safe and their husbands are being satisfied elsewhewe. Many wives simply turn a blind eye to their husbands philandering. Yes, prostitution is still a crime in China. But if a crime causes no harm and their are no victimes then why is it a crime? Wouldn't it be much smarter to legalise it and charge taxes?

Well, only the policemen and the girls know it. But I saw this happen in a Hong Kong movie. A man went into a brothel and used the service. When it was done, that man told the girl he was a police and called his companions in.......

Good idea. It's another way to expand China's revenue. And I guess that a large number of males will applause if China legalizes prositution while some girls will oppose to it. What Chinese authorities should do?

PS: I tried to read the whole story and found something new.

The police clarified that photo wasn't released by them. There was a reporter who was also in that operation. He took some photos and offered them to another journalist. It was that journalist who released the photo on the internet. However, the police refused to disclose anything about that journalist.

Prostitution will never be stopped. Many have tried but none have succeeded. The same goes for alcohol. cigarettes and even drugs. Legalise it and make it a business like any other. Charge taxes and remove the criminals.

Kevin, did the journalist, camera in hand, just turn up by chance as the raid was taking place?
Even a simpleton like me can work that one out.
Did he pay for the…..no, I’ll be band for suggesting that.
