Hi Rams,

China's three biggest Telecom Operators (China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom) issue different kinds of sim-cards. Currently, they all issue 3G sim cards. If you have a 3G cellphone, you can try 3G sim cards but the fee is too high. Well, it is said that China Mobile's signal is better the other two operators.

Each operator issues many kinds of sim-cards too. Also there are many kinds of mobile packages and the fee is different. I am afraid that it is really complicated for a foreigner to choose a suitable sim-card.

And it is not a good idea to use the same sim-card in Shanghai,Jinah and HK. If you wanna use a mainland sim-card in HK, you have to apply for mobile roaming service and usually the fee is too high.
