This is on behalf of my husband, he is a Geography/social science teacher at a secondary school in Australia, unfortunately, his contract with the current school is ending in Dec.

The future becomes very uncertain, financially, especially we have 3 children, and I'm a house wife looking after the kids, and I'm a native chinese and have lived in AUS for over 10 years...

So, I suggest to him - mayby we should try again living in China, if he can find a decent teaching job like what he's teaching now - Geography, Science, even History, Manual arts, etc.

He has one year teaching experience with one of the International School in Shunde, Guangdong 5 years ago teachin IB Geography. I was pregnant with our first child, so we didn't extend the contract and came back to Australia.

Over the years, he's kept contact with one of the colleague from the school, and he said the school still willing to offer him a job, and waiting for his decision no later than next April.

But, I'm a bit hesitate, as we have 3 children in very young age (5,2,1), the school he had worked for is kind of quite remote to anywhere, is over about an hour trip to Guangzhou by bus...

So, I wonder if there is any other International school in China are looking for Geography/Science teacher, or anyone knows such opportunities available? prefer in Beijing or Shenzhen.

Thank you in advance for your advice or any kind input.

He will have far more choice if he teaches English. Native English teachers with a degree and teaching experience are in high demand in all parts of China. There are many websites offering such jobs.

Thank you for your input.

Yes, I'm aware of that, even 5 years ago, it was like english teachers everywhere with very low income. There were quite a few young westerns(backpackers) teaching English at the same school that my husband taught, his salary was 2000USD while the english teaches were getting only 4500RMB, a big difference, and that's back to 5 years ago. I just don't think we'll be surving as a big family with the money he earns if just teaching English, also it's kind of a bit awaste for his Geography degree.
