Could someone please recommend a site where I can plug in my destination and get Train schedules in English. For instance, I'm trying to find out if there is a train from Hangzhou to Xi'an or from Shanghai to Xi'an. Thank you.

Also, I'm new at this. Please tell me how to thank the person who gives me information. I push reply and it goes back to my own question. How can I communicate with someone who helped me?

Consider flying to Xian. Air service in China is not bad: new planes, new airports, lots of comeptition, flights generally on time (I hope my luck holds).

More expensive than train yes, good option if you are not on a tight busget.

But I will recommend T138 to you since its terminal is Xi’an so you wont get off at the wrong station. Also the time is perfect.
The following trains from Shanghai to Xi’an are all air conditioned but some are express while some are special express, which is faster, you can tell by the duration.

Thank you to all of you who responded to my questions. I apprecaite your input greatly. I tried to answer each one of you individually. I hope you recieved that thanks. China is enormous. We are not there long enough to see that spots we want to see. We're not giving up yet and will still try to see the Terra Cotta Warriors. Will we be happy we made the effort?

I will go on to find you more info on flight from Beijing to Xian.
Terra Cotta is absolutely worth visiting! You will fall in love with those lovely warriors.They were modelled after each other so u can get a glimpse of wat Shaanxi people looked like 2,000 years ago! Super cool and handsome!
I recommend you find some stories about Terra Cotta before you visit it since tour guide wont offer so much info as u might be interested in.
