GUEST21478 Monkey king and hanuman are totally different. Monkey king is a monkey called sun wukong. He is from China. He is born from a stone, and goes the west with his master. After the journey, he become a buddist. Monkey king is a production of both buddist and Taoism and it is only a character in the novel, there is no existence in the Chinese myth. However, Hanuman is exist in the India myth.

GUEST97102 They are not the same at the very best Sun Wukong is based off Hanuman. While they share similarites it's mostly just their abilities. Their stories are completely different. Sun Wukong started out as a demon born from a stone egg. He was not immortal whatsoever. He only became immortal after he erased his name from the book of life and death, ate the peaches of immortality and immortality pills all of which he stole from the gods anyway. He was placed under the mountain because he went on a rampage in heaven. None of the gods could beat him in combat to the Buddha challenge him to a bet which he lost and became imprisoned under the mountain. He helped in journey to the west because he was forced to not because he wanted to.
