| We have been planning our trip to China for a group of students and teachers over the last few years (19 total). Unfortunately the February break for us this year does turn out to be Chinese New Years (Arriving in Shanghai on the afternoon of 2-14-2010 and leaving Beijing on 2-21-2010). Day 1 On arrival in Shanghai, you will be met & transferred by our professional English speaking guide to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Day 2 Shanghai (B/L) Buffet breakfast at hotel. Followed by visit to the Bund, Nanjing Road & World Financial Center. Enjoy an Acrobat Show in the evening. Day 3 Shanghai (B/L) Buffet breakfast at hotel. Full day trip to Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Garden, and Shanghai Museum with lunch at good local restaurants. Day 4 Shanghai/Beijing (B/L) Fly to Beijing in the morning. Upon arrival, visit the Hutong. Day 5 Beijing (B/L) Buffet breakfast at hotel. Full day city excursion to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven. Day 6 Beijing (B/L/D) Buffet breakfast at hotel followed by full day trip to Great Wall, Ming Tombs and Sacred Way with lunch at local Chinese restaurant. Visit the Olympic Stadiums (including entrance) on the way back. Peking Duck dinner followed by Kung Fu Show. Day 7 Beijing (B/L) Half day visit to Summer Palace, shopping at the Xiushui market in the afternoon. Day 8 Beijing Departure (B) Buffet breakfast at hotel. Free until transfer to the airport for flight to the next destination. This is my 3rd time going back to China with kids in the last 5 years so do know the process pretty well. I do have some questions regarding places to go and eat at dinner time (tour includes lunch except the Peking Duck Dinner)... Day 1 (Chinese New Years): I like to bring the kids to Xiao Yang shanghaiist.com/2007/…dianpings_shang.php Also for the experts out there, is there a place that everyone would suggest to watch the celebration of Chinese New Years (Dragon Parade, performances, etc)... Day 2 Another authentic place for dining (小肥羊 or are there better ones for better value, have so much reading to do on Dianping...) Day 3 Please recommend another must eat in Shanghai and a good Karaoke place for kids with more American Songs... Are these two places reputable? http://www.cn.cashboxparty.com/ http://www.shgcktv.com/ Day 4 Good place for locals, thought about the Wangfujing Snack Street (went there last summer, never been to Dong Hua Men Night Market)... Day 5 and Day 7 Final fun activity day for Beijing I do understand most experts will say that not all the foreigners will enjoy authentic Chinese all the time, but I have been training these kids the last three years with Scallion Pancakes, thousand year old egg, congee, etc... The kids in the past loved the street snacks in Shanghai, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for everything and Happy New Years round 1 :-)!!! |
