Chinese Characters:
English Version: When New Year comes, people in China will hang the world “Happiness” upside down on the door. “Upside down” is a homonym for “to arrive” in Chinese, so this is a pun for “Happiness arrives”.It was said that this custom started in the Ming Dynasty(A.D.1368---1644). Before that, no one hung “Happiness” upside down.
