guestEve I'll be travelling to Hong Kong this summer (july - august 2010) and have about a month to spend there. Ofcourse i would very much like to visit some other places while i'm there. Do you have any suggestions?

I read a lot about Yangshuo. It is the scenery that is appealing to me, but the talk about it being to touristy kind of puts me off. Does anyone have any expierence with this, is it overrun by tourists and very 'westernized'?

I was thinking about travelling from HK to Guilin, and using that as a base to visit some of the cities surrounding it (yangshuo, longsheng, liuzhou). Is that do-able and are there any other places you can recommend?

Is it also possible to travel from Hong Kong or Guangzhou to Lhasa, Tibet?

Thanks for the info!

Are you planning on getting a single-entry, double-entry or multi-entry visa for China?
How long will you need/want to spend in Hong Kong?
