I understand now ID is needed to book train tickets, I will arrive 11th feb and need train ticket to Wuhan froim either Shenzhen or Guangzhou on 12th or at latest 13th.
Obviously I will have my passport with me when I fly so cant get anyone to pre book my ticket at this busy time.
Is there any way around the problem?

Hmmm. If you don't mind the expense (shouldn't be too much, it's a short flight) you might want to try just going by plane instead.

Thanks, the plane is an option even though its more expensive but I cant find any info about luggage allowance.
I will have a suitcase and camera gear.

Generally 15 kg for check-in and 5 kg for carry-on, though I find that they never check the weight of the carry-on.

Seriously though, I don't think they ever really check, especially if you only have 1 check-in case.
