| guest10227 | Hello We're travelling from Beijing to Nanchang on Feb 21. We'd like to do this by rail. Is this a good idea? Crowded? Sleeping with others in a bunk? Thoughts? Thanks |

| GUESTBEIJING... | Hi I am a Chinese living in Beijing. I can tell you that travel by train in China is NOT as inconvinent and uncomfortable as many foreigners perceive it to be. For your case, I recommend train Z65 to you because it is faster than all other trains from Beijing to Nanchang. After 11hours 57mins travel (1800kms) you will reach in Nanchang at around 8:00AM.  | Well, you won't be sharing your own bunk with anyone else... so you're not sleeping with someone else in the same bed! That sounds a bit too scary. However bunks are arranged in compartments of 6 (hard sleeper) or 4 (soft sleeper). You'll be sharing each compartment with other passengers. This is the time when lots of people will be heading back to work after the Chinese New Year, so train tickets would be difficult to get. You might only be able to get hard seat tickets, and that would not be comfortable for such a long distance and extremely crowded. It might be better to fly if your departure date is inflexible and your budget will allow for it. |

| hallo I read your answer for nanchang and I would like to know, is the month 3 and 4 good for staying in nanchang ??? I plan to go there next year and I am staying in egypt and I would fly from kairo to china, please which city is the best to fly to , if I want to stay in nanchang.????? and do YOU think in nanchang its possible to find ""privat--rooms"" for rent??? thank you very much for your help and I am looking forward to hear from YOU. It's cold and rains a lot in March and April Nanchang. Temp is from 8℃-13℃. There are direct flights between Kairo and Nanchang. Private rooms are available in almost every city of China, no except of Nanchang. |
