I am English, my wife was Chinese. Married in Feb 2005 in China. We both came back to UK. She obtained British Citizenship after three years in UK.
Now she has dissappeared obviously looking for divorce and no doubt expects half of my worldly goods.
Has anyone got advice?
Does anyone know her entitlements?
No children involved, other than her two sons from her previous marriage, living in China.

GUEST17197 I don't know the divorce laws in the UK, but here in California, we have community property laws: whatever belonged to the man before the wedding, is his after the divorce, and whatever belonged to the woman before the wedding is hers after the divorce - unless they agreed otherwise in a prenuptial agreement.
Furthermore, all assets accumulated during the marriage are community assets at the time of the divorce. These rules work for most simple divorces. In more complicated cases, there are many other factors that are looked at by the divorce court.
Divorces are BIG business for lawyers.
There are two old sayings: 1."A divorce lawyer will fight tooth and nail to save your assets, so he can have them for himself" and 2. "Why are divorces so expensive? because they are worth it".

GUEST32198 I thank you for your comment, I appreciate your reply and have to say it has cheered me up somewhat and hope the English Laws are as sensible.

Best regards

Guest16167, obtaining a travel/tourist visa to the UK is simple and easy as far as I am aware.
I’ve taken my wife to the UK twice now in the past two years.
So I can only assume that the ‘can’t get a visa’ story is just that.
Unless your wife has obtained a divorce in China, which I understand can take as little as a day, you are still legally married.
Try contacting the Chinese consulate; perhaps they can give you some advice.
Good luck, Dodger.

Psigournay, you could be about to lose half your assets
I suggest that you consult a solicitor immediately to register the fact that your wife has left.

or call one of the Lawer that take care of that . I am marring a Chinese lady and know what I have to do it isn't easy but she is worth it. GOOD LUCK
