Advise me about travelling in China

I have a plan to travel in China with my dad in Feb. And I checked the weather from the website, it's too cold for my dad, so i don't know how to prepare some clothes for my dad and I. I'm afraid that my dad cannot stand in the cold wind and he'll be happy to travel. So be advise me about travelling in China, pls.

Where in China will you be going to? There're some places which have tropical weather, such as Hainan island, and Xishuangbanna in Yunnan province.

Beijing. I checked the weather is 0-6 Celcius and I'd like to know how to prepare the clothers for my dad. Pls advise me.

Well, why didn't you say Beijing in your original question, then?
Get thermals, sweater and down coat. Depends on where you're coming from and how much he feels the cold. I recently wore a down coat and sweater, plus jeans (and no thermals whatsoever) in Frankfurt just last week, and it was below freezing point.
