are there any coffeee shops eg ; starbucks mcdonalds etc
near broadway mansions hotel

Erm, Shanghai is quite cosmopolitan and modern now. Finding coffee isn't really a problem!
In fact there's a British Bar right in your hotel which would have coffee on the menu, and coffee is also provided with the buffet breakfast.
Otherwise, Astor House Hotel (aka Pujiang Hotel) opposite your hotel has a La Vie En Rose Cafe.
The next nearest option is 68 Cafe, at 68 Daming Lu, a short walk north of your hotel.

Buying a coffee in Shangjai is no hassle at all. Sadly getting a good one is a rarer experience. Often it is quite weak, or scalded where the water has been too hot through the beans.

Don't know why but it almost seems they make better coffee the further north you go
