| According to Beijing Tourism Administration, Beijing is very likely to extend the transit without visa period from current 24 hours to SEVEN DAYS. It is said that this seven-day free policy has been suggested by Beijing Tourism Administration and Beijing Capital Airport. The seven-day free policy refers to allowing travelers to stay in a foreign country for a maximum of seven days without a visa. If it is approved, more foreign travelers will come to Beijing. |

| Update: Tianjin Exit and Entry Management Bureau opened port visa office in Binhai International Airport on December 9, 2009. Those who hold invitation letters but don’t apply their visas before coming to China or who meet the following 11 requirements can apply their port visas after landing in Binhai International Airport. The whole process can be finished in less than 30 minutes. The visa office can issue F or L visa according to the applicants. BTW, the individual visa application can be processed by their host organizations while group tourist visa application can be processed by those qualified travel agencies. Those who hold valid port visas and passports can enter China from any port open to foreigners in China. According to the port visa office, the port visa is usually a single-entry visa and its valid period is ONE month. And the visa fee varies according to the applicants’ nationality. 11 requirements: 1. Being invited at short notice by the Chinese side to attend a trade fair in China; 2. Being invited to China to enter a bid or to formally sign an economic or trade contract; 3. Coming to China under contract for supervision over export shipment, import commodity inspection or check on the completion of a contract. 4. Being invited to install equipment or make rush repairs; 5. Coming to China at the request of the Chinese side or settling Claims; 6. Being invited to China for scientific or technological consulting services; 7. A last-minute replacement or addition, approved by the Chinese side, to a delegation or group that has been invited and has already obtained visas for traveling to China; 8. For visiting a patient in a critical condition or making funeral arrangements; 9. As persons in immediate transit who, because of force majeure, are unable to leave China by the original air craft within 24 hours or have to leave China by other means of transport; 10. As other invitees who really do not have enough time to apply for visas to the above-mentioned Chinese agencies abroad but hold letters or telegrams from designated competent authorities approving the application for visas at port visa agencies. 11. The tourist groups that organized and received by Chinese international travel agencies and the approved HongKong, Macau travel agencies can apply for port visas. |
