Can anyone tell me which bus station in Chengdu has buses to Songpan? Also what times they depart?

You need go to Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station. There are buses from Chengdu to Songpan. The earliest bus departs at 6:30 am.

I am not sure. Some people say that there is a bus from Xinnanmen to Songpan. But I don't find it on its website.

GUESTWL Hi I'm travelling to Chengdu on 24 JUL-31 JUL 2010. I plan to visit CHENGDU - JIUZHAIGOU - HUANGLONG - SONGPAN - CHENGDU - LESHAN - MT EMEI - CHENGDU by bus and taxi.

I plan to pick some budget hotels during the journey from one place to another. May I know if it's a wise decision to do this as in not booking for hotels in advance? Because this is a free-and-easy trip (not by tour package) so I'm afraid I might change the itinerary by then.

I would also need some advises on booking/purchasing bus tickets. Is it OKAY to buy bus ticket there in a day advance? Or is it better to book it first and how to book?

I think long-distance bus tickets should generally be ok bought a day or two in advance.
