guest01195 Hi....I am wondering if I can go from Suzhou to the Shanghai Intl Airport the morning I leave. My flight is at 12:40 in the afternoon. I was hoping to spend the night in Suzhou before I have to leave the next day. I was hoping to get to the airport by 9:30 the latest. Thank you.

Which airport, Pudong or Hongqiao? Here is the info that I found:

Pudong Airport — Suzhou (ticket office of China Eastern Airlines in 115, Ganjiang Xilu)
Departure time from Pudong Airport: 10:00, 10:40, 11:10, 11:40, 12:10, 12:40, 13:10, 13:50, 14:20, 14:50, 15:20, 16:10, 16:50, 17:20, 18:10, 18:50, 20:00
Departure time from Suzhou: 7:00, 7:40, 8:20, 9:00, 9:40, 10:20, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 (Tongguanfang or ticket office of China Eastern Airlines)
Ticket Fare: CNY84
Time Duration: about 2 hours 40 minutes
Notes: From Suzhou to Pudong, the bus will get to Hongqiao Airport first and then run to Pudong Airport. It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to Hongqiao Airport. Ticket fare is CNY50.

Hope it will be helpful to you.

GUEST01195 thank you Jimmy,

I think it is going to be best to get back to Shanghai the night before we leave, so we can be up early to get to the International airport. I know we can take the maglev to the airport in the morning for our 12:40 flight back to the US. I have been reading a lot in guides and on the internet, and I am planning on spending 2 full days in Shanghai on the previous Fri, Sat, Sunday, then Monday, we will head to Tong Li, spend a night there, then Tuesday, spend a night in Suzhou, and Wed night go back to Shanghai. I thought we could just spend 2 nights in Suzhou, but I think it would be "cutting it close". Thanks for your help!!

I don't think it would be "cutting it close" if you catch the Suzhou -- Pudong airport bus at 0700, actually.
BTW if you have any more queries, you can email me at yahoo.com|ellyse99 -- put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username in the subject line.
