New Rules re Lhasa

KTINDE Points: Join Date: Mar 5, 2010 Status: offline	Can anyone throw light re the present travel situation in Lhasa. I wish to go there in June/July and have heard different versions or the new travel rules.Besides having a travel permit is there anything else necessary if I wish to just stay in Lhasa and not go to any other cities. Can I travel freely on the buses to visit the monasteries near Lhasa. Do I need to hire a guide all the time and can one travel solo. Any info will be truely appreciated. Thanks.
