Hello,

I am a British National currently in India and just trying to get to grips with the Chinese Visa situation.

I will be applying for my Chinese Visa in Bangkok around the 24th March.

I want to enter China sometime in April 2010. My travel plans involve a trip to Hong Kong, via the train from Hanoi in Vietnam. After which I was hoping to move inland to Yangshuo for at least a month, before heading south to Yunnan and up into the area east of Tibet.

Clearly my itinerary is far longer than the 30-days provided on the normal visa.

Is there anyway to get a longer visa. I'd be looking for around 3-months.

I hope somebody can help,

Best wishes,

Luke

Recent information from PSB staff is that you can apply for a 6 month multiple entry L visa but you will need to leave the country after three months and re-enter.

All the best.

Thank you thats very helpful information.

Could you tell me who I can apply with for this type of visa?

It would make sense, I could travel from Hong Kong to Yangshuo and then south, leaving China over the border to Vietnam for a few weeks and then return to Yunnan.

I would have to have an outbound flight booked though correct?

Thanks this is very helpful.
