Can a person get a tourist visa to China with a misdemeanor battery charge on their record?

guest53237 I have already done everything the courts wanted me to do and the case has been closed, yet since it is still on my record and I'm still on informal probation, I'm worried that I will be denied the tourist visa. I'm really stressed about this because I was really looking forward to going. The misdemeanor was for a minor battery charge(altercation with a customer) but this happened almost 2 years ago and the case has been closed. I'm afraid to check yes I have a misdemeanor because they might deny me and if I check no and they do a background check and find out I have one I will be denied. I was thinking the only thing I could do is check yes and just explain in detail what happened and that I'm really sorry and that I learned my lesson and dress nice and all that. I'm wondering if anyone on here knows if having a misdemeanor and being on informal probation will keep me from going to China? Please help
