![]() | Hello ![]() I am going to be married in China and need a single proof document. Where do I get that (have never heard about it)? What other documents are needed? I live in Denmark. Thanks! Chris |

![]() | It is probably proof from your government that you are single and free to marry. You will need proof of divorce if previously married. These documents need to be notarised. If you want help or advice, join this forum http://nanninginfosite.editboard.com/ |

![]() | I got mine in UK from the local births/deaths/marriages place. I then had to get it authorised by both my foreign office and the Chinese consulate just to prove its a legal document. It is just a piece of paper to say you are single or divorced, basically to show you are available to marry |

![]() | I don't know about Denmark. I live in the USA and the paperwork does not exist here, but required in China. I had to get a notorized copy of my divorce. Get that notorized by the state I live in (by the Secretary of the State), had an online company send that to get notorized by the Secretary of the State of the USA (now Hillary Clinton), send that to the Chinese embassy in Washington DC. Fly to Guangzhou, China. Take that paperwork and my wifes china card to the US Embassy and swear I was single and sign the paper. The paper they give you is stamped with a seal. That is the single prove paper you need to marry in China. Luckily my wife knew the rest which was to get the paper translated into Chinese and then register to get married. A very big hassel. You really have to want to get married as it is very expensive and a big hassle. So far I have no regrets. My wife is still in China waiting for the visa to come here. Another big expense plus I need to fly her here. Another big expense. |
