Is body photography an elegant form of art?

Body photography is still a sensitive topic in the eyes of the most, although it has history of 170 years. As I know, few of my friends like it or can read into it. Maybe, we are those who have no sense of art. Now, more and more people join in this field, even mad for it. I just wonder they really like it? Or they just want to be “fashion follower”?
So, what's your view ?
