HK - Guilin - Lijiang - HK

Hello
We are planning to travel from Hong Kong to Guilin and then on to Lijiang and back to Hong Kong. I'd prefer to take trains where possible. I believe we can go from HK - Shenzhen, and then take a sleeper train to Guilin. Is this right?

Can I book tickets in advance while I am in Hong Kong? Where can I do this?

Can anyone recommend the best way to then go from Guilin - Lijiang and then back to HK?

For Guilin -- Lijiang, start by taking a train Guilin -- Kunming.
I've heard that there're trains now for Kunming -- Lijiang, but I'm not sure. At the very least, considering that you want to go by train as much as possible, take an overnight train Kunming -- Dali, then change to a long-distance bus to get to Lijiang. Alternatively you could also go by overnight sleeper bus Kunming -- Lijiang.
Going back just reverse the directions above.

Hey!

for your trip from Guilin to Lijiang, you can by train from Guilin to Kunming, then from Kunming by train directly to Lijiang, there is train between Lijiang and Kunming. You also can by bus if you like. if you like to Dali to visit, you can first to Dali, then by train or bus come up to Lijiang!
